I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech in Mar 2020
Interview
At the time it seems they were mass hiring SPAs. A "hiring manager" reached out to me and we had a very good conversation (phone screen). She let me know that she was actually not the hiring manager but someone in a manager position that is helping with the screening of the candidates.
After passing the phone screen, I was told I would have to do a presentation along with 7 - 30 min interviews with individuals along with a 45 min panel interview and 45 min technical. I was given the option to test in R or SAS, I chose R and the questions were some multiple choice questions you had to chose while the interviewers were on the screen. Then they asked several statistical methods questions as well.
Last person I interviewed with was yet a different "hiring manager". I was told that they would place the candidate into a position they felt fit best so she wouldn't necessarily be the hiring manager. Anyway, I didn't get great vibes from her, she was the serious stern type.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech in June 2020
Interview
The interview included a phone screen with the hiring manager and a follow-up call with a recruiter to provide general information about the company and its benefits. The phone screen with the hiring manager was more of a conversation than a structured interview.
