I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Golden Valley, MN) in Oct 2015
Interview
Since I applied until I got the email in which they said that they are not bale to offer me employment were 44 days and overall an interesting process. My field is HR and going through this process also taught some things to consider when I am at the other side. Here are a few things about the process and my interview:
1. The communication is very good during the whole process even though it comes from several people.
2. The phone interview was short and very interesting.
3. I was the only non-white person and the only one not greeted with an smile at the security desk in the Golden Valley HQs.
4. One more person (female) was interviewing at the same time which was hard to not noticed it.
5. All my contacts and interviewers were white females which did not discurage me but it gave me a sense of what they were looking for (see 5).
6. People were nice, manager long time employee, second person she was tired, the third person was nice but did not know what to do with me at the end of her interview ( it was said to scort me to the next interview in the email I got a few days before) and she got distracted with kids in superman customs passing by.
7. Coffee break was 10 minutes with not the person designed whom went home sick which is fine.
8. Last interview 4pm with a very energetic employee but she was tired and she allowed me to ask questions while walking to meet the scort. She just wanted to leave work.
9. I did not have a wrap up which at that point and I was pretty much sure I did not got the offer of employment. The employee escort ask me how was everything just as a mere process not wanting an answer.
Overall a great place, nice facilities but that was my experience
