I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Genesys in July 2010
Interview
The interview process was a one day affair and it happened in the company premise. After a written test came the first round of F2F interview.
The first think which struck me was the calm demeanour of the interviewers and their ability to extract answer from me. They were a panel of two and were genuinely interested in knowing whether I know what I am talking about or not. During the whole interview process, never once did they behave like overzealous critiques.
I say this because I was giving interview for a job profile where C++ knowledge is required and I had only Java experience.
Interview questions varied from puzzles to technical questions on heap, stack, linked-list, keywords and their usage, static, encapsulation/abstraction and their implementation etc. The main interview lasted well over an hour and involved me writing some pseudo codes.
Next came a F2F round with the local director of the firm followed by an HR round.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Two stings of length 2n are given to you along with another string of length 2n. Your task is to tell whether the third string can be constructed by using the first two strings.
Condition -> You are required to pick n and only n alphabets from both strings 1 and 2.
I was contacted by the interviewer by email. She got my email from my Linkedin. We had one interview and then three months after they replied me saying that they have reviewed my application and it will no longer be considered. It was a really nice interview though very conducive environment. It was more like a friend chat and that made me very relaxed and confident.
Straightforward, not too difficult. Feedback was pretty quick. The recruiter got back to me within a week or so. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. To be or not to be?
First round is a general call with recruiter, just chat about your experience and about the role.
Second is a 1hr semi technical interview with hiring manager. Goes over your CV, experience, stuff related to the role.
Third is a Technical take home test.
Fourth and final is a review of technical take home test with Hiring manager and senior devs.
