I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2011
Interview
Initial interview with a recruiter to ascertain interest in the position, willingness to work in Inside Sales. Followed by a 15 minute mock sales pitch with member of Inside Sales Department and 15 minute competency based interview.
Has to send information 24hrs ahead for sales pitch - who I was, who the client was, position in company, size of company, size of client company etc.
They want you to be structured and tease out responses from interviewer by asking probing questions. I fell down on this as I picked a service that wasn't readily identifiable and spent much of the call explaining it and neglected to dig out their position in company (although you send this in as part of info request) etc.
Overall its a fairly transparent process if not a little arbitrary.

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2024
Interview
Very extensive, after four rounds I finally knew where I stood, and the entire process took about 3-4 weeks before I understood the entire roles and responsibilities. Great interview process because you have ample time to ask questions

What are you going to do to stand out from other sales representatives.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Reston, VA) in Nov 2022
Interview
3 - 45 Minute sessions and two recruiter screenings. I was very disappointed by my recruiting process at Google Public Sector after making clear my background and being advanced for an alternate role that I have no experience for. I felt the recruiters were unable to spend any time to prep before speaking to me, and ended up wasting both of our time. I also felt the recruiters weren't able to offer any information but felt like a one way conversation of me speaking and not getting any information about the role, reciprocated.
