I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Arlington, VA) in Oct 2021
Interview
Applied and got selected for two 30 min virtual interviews. The seniors I talked to were very chatty and seemed really happy to be talking to me. They had so many great things to say about the firm and it was very conversational, only asked me a couple behavioral questions as it came up in conversation. They both had my resume pulled up and brought up multiple points to ask me about.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a team experience that went badly and how did you deal with it?
The first round of interviews was a group interview with four people, followed by an English essay. Neither the interview questions nor the essay topic had anything to do with auditing, and the interview questions seemed to be fixed; some interviewees even knew the questions beforehand. If that's true, I think it's unfair.
The interview process at Grant Thornton typically involves multiple stages, including an initial phone screening, a behavioral interview, and a technical or case-based assessment. Candidates may also meet with managers or partners. The process emphasizes cultural fit, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities, often concluding with a final round or offer discussion
