I applied for the role via LinkedIn about a week after applying I was contacted by a recruiter. We had a 30-minute interview via Teams then I was told I would hear back by the end of the following week. three days later I received an email informing me that I was not selected to move forward. I asked for feedback as I felt fully qualified for the role but I unfortunately never heard back.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Orange, CA) in Mar 2024
Interview
I applied for a summer 2025 Tax internship as a 2nd-year college student. The phone call was the pre-interview with the recruiter. I met two senior accountant managers from separate fields at my 2nd interview. I did not expect a third round with another two managers at Grant Thornton (Tax Manager and Managing Director).
I got a rejection email two days after the 3rd round stating that it was "too competitive." While most firms only have two rounds.
Overall, the interview process will be complicated if you don't know the people there or have recommendations. Grant Thornton's interview process isn't only difficult but time-consuming. I would consider applying for different firms or positions,

Interview
Applied and then had a 30-minute phone call with recruiter. As a top accounting and advisory firm, I am shocked that I was ghosted. I find it super rude how we are in the middle of a recession and there are candidates who have been laid off and are looking for jobs but do not receive feedback. I used to respect this company, but I am no longer going to apply or interview here because of my experience. I followed up several times about my candidacy and did not get a response back. So unprofessional.
