I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at H E B (Austin, TX) in May 2013
Interview
My initial experience with HEB was a group interview. I was brought into a room with 9 other people, all of whom applied for similar jobs as the one I was interviewing for. it wasn't a normal interview, in that we didn't just answer questions to the best of our ability. It was more of a group activity project. Each activity consisted of role-play or basic 'about me' stuff. It was actually a pleasant experience, but it definitely required you to be more outgoing than the other interviewees.

Question 1
Each applicant was given a hypothetical situation involving a customer. They were to come up with the best solution possible - ideally one that satisfied the customer and gained their loyalty.

Interview
The process is simple enough, its mostly a lot of STAR based questions. And the digital interview is basically the same as the in person. The questions most of the time will be identical, if not extremely similar.

Question 1
Describe a time you were tasked to work with a team
I interviewed at a grocery store where the manager asked about my customer service skills and availability. The atmosphere was friendly, and I felt confident discussing my past teamwork experience.

Question 1
Name a time I had to mitigate an issue with a co worker.
It was easy and straightforward. I received a call back days later and went in for an interview. The manager was very engaged and felt like a conversation. I was called a week later to being my onboarding process.
