I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at H E B (San Antonio, TX) in Dec 2017
Interview
The one thing I thought was really interesting about HEB's interview process is that the first step is actually an online interview. I expected a typical, multiple choice interview like I've done for other businesses, but HEB was different. It was like a webcam interview where you were asked questions and recorded the answer. It was a little awkward, but they said that they give priority to those who do this interview rather than go in person first. After a few weeks, I got a call back from an HEB employee asking me in for an in-person interview that was pretty basic. They just wanted to verify that I could do the job and basically gave me the job.
Called me in for an interview knowing I had no overnight experience and no stocking experience but declined to give me an offer because of this, or so they say. I would say it's more likely they saw I was short and a little chubby and instantly discriminated against me physically, assuming I could not do the job. Then kicked me over to the Deli guy for an impromptu interview. Both ghosted me afterwards. Honestly pretty unprofessional behavior.

Interview
Pretty easy I got asked all the same questions that you would at any other interview like “describe a time where you had to work as a team” only reason I didn’t get the job is because they wanted someone to work a full 8 hour shift and I just wanted to work 4 max.

Interview
I applied online and 2 weeks later received a call from a manager for an interview. In my opinion, the interview went well and manager seemed excited for me to join the team. Afterwards, I heard nothing for several days. I called back and was told job was given to an internal applicant.
