Listen to the patient and take notes, review your notes with the patient to insure that you have all of the correct information. Apologize to the patient for the difficulty and/or frustrations that they have experienced. Respond appropriately according to company guidelines and regulations, or if it is beyond your authority explain that their issues and concerns will be escalated to the department manager for resolution, and provide a timeline of when they should expect resolution.
