Poorly. You should estimate how many windows the average person "has" and multiply that by the population. People have windows in their cars, houses, and workplaces. Figure an average for each, add in a factor for other locations not included in the above sources of windows and take a guess. The answer is not important: how you think about the solution is more important and revealing to the interviewer.
