The interview process with IDEXX was disjointed and confusing at times. They do not have a solid process in place in regards to filling out an application, detailing out the interview process expectations to you, providing feedback, etc. In fact, I had three interviews and was never once asked to fill out an application. In addition, the interview process is long, with large gaps of time between your interview and receiving feedback. This is an organization that makes decisions by committee, with no clear decision maker involved. I met with seven people from varying areas of the company, and realized quickly that they all had different opinions about the position and the profile required to fill it properly. In fact, I ended up not receiving any feedback at all from that last interview. I was told that they would follow up with me the next day, and that was two months ago. I have not to this point received even a letter in the mail stating, "thanks, but no thanks" . I was told repeatedly throughout the interview process, and during some interviews, that the process would be long, and that it would be counter productive in some ways. In addition, some of the senior level people that interviewed me said things like, "have they bothered to even talk to you about salary yet? Be careful, they like to do that and then low ball you at the end, as they think they are the only game in town". I was also told that they were surprised that I had received an interview so quickly, as they had a large problem with getting good people in for an interview. It was communicated that even internal referrals were lost in the mix, because the talent management group had no clear process in general, and certainly no applicant tracking system to speak of. Overall, I would avoid working for a company like this, as their dysfunctional recruitment process screams of larger issues internally that would hamper a productive employment.
