      Interview

The interview process was relatively straightforward. I did not get the job, but I spoke with the hiring manage, two sales people, the sales director and another sales engineer. There were not a lot of technical questions about semiconductors.

      Sales Engineer Interview

      13 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation

      Interview

I have been in sales for over a decade with a stellar sales resume, worked for a Fortune 500 company with a multi-million dollar annual quota. Like many people, I have had more than one career path. My first chosen career was in music and sound technology but my focus the last decade has been an extremely successful run in B2B SaaS sales. I interviewed with 6 people, including the director and thought I aced the interviews and was going to get a job offer. The director said he was going to call me after all the interviews. I thought for sure that meant I was going to get an offer but instead the director called me and told me I should just fall back on my first career in music, instead of following my sales career. Wow! What the!? There is no scenario on Earth that that was an appropriate thing to say to a grown career professional with a resume as impressive as mine. A resume more impressive than several of the people I interviewed with and was by far the most inappropriate and frankly sexist thing anyone has ever said to me in a corporate setting. Aside from not getting what I thought was a dream job, it was just deeply inappropriate in so many ways and just a total turn off to the company as a whole. Intel has had a reputation for being hostile to women. Now I know why.

What’s your greatest achievement? What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? What’s your greatest failure?
