I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Liberty Mutual Insurance (Sacramento, CA) in May 2014
Interview
I was contacted by a university recruiter via email to apply online at a link and specify a time that works best for me to do a phone interview. I did a 30-min pre-screening phone interview that asked about my university, my major, my extra-curricular activities, why I was interested in working in insurance, why I was drawn to Liberty Mutual Insurance as an organization, what skills did I have for the job. Then she asked a couple of "Give me a time when..." questions. Then I was called later that day for an in-person interview in the main office for a 1-on-1 interview with a hiring manager. I had a 30 minute scheduled in-person interview with the hiring manager but we ended up speaking for an hour. She went over my resume line-by-line asking additional questions about my educational background, previous jobs, career goals, and then more behavioral questions.

Question 1
Give me an example of a time when you had to make the most important decision of your life so far.
I applied online. I interviewed at Liberty Mutual Insurance (Lake Oswego, OR) in July 2023
Interview
Recruiter phone call, followed by a Zoom interview. Liberty is excellent about doing exactly what that they say they’re going to do. 10/10 follow up and so very friendly. The managers set me up for success with the interview questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Liberty Mutual Insurance (Hoffman Estates, IL) in Sept 2014
Interview
There was an initial test I had to complete, then a phone interview and a final in person interview consisting of an initial interview with two managers and a second interview with a regional manager. Between the first and second in person interview, you sat with a claims specialist and discussed the position and asked any questions during this time. It was about 20 minutes of time, where I assume the managers discussed your interview with the senior manager before you went in.
