The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's in Oct 2010
Interview
After an initial (behavioral based questions) interview, an on-site interview took place in NYC. A group of recruits from various colleges were at the On-Site interview. The company set everyone up in a hotel about 2 blocks away from the Company's Interviewing Site. The first night was about 3-4 hours of just ice breakers/getting to know other recruits and company employees. There was a nice dinner, and a Q&A with one of the company's district VPs (always important to ask a lot of questions, and don't be hesitant).
The next day was about 8 hours of On-Site interviewing. 4 parts of the day. 1) Based on the information that you were given, you had about an hour or so to prepare for an individual presentation. 2) Two 1:1 interviews, 1 with a store manager, 1 with an HR manager. 3) Info session and Q&A with former EDP employees. 4) Group presentation based on information similar to the individual presentation.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Name a time when you had to coordinate two groups of employees that had conflicting interests effectively. What did you do? What were the results?
The interview process was lengthy but very conversational. I think there were 3-5 rounds. There was also a technical interview for your specific function that you took online in a closed browser.
It was easy. Just be yourself and don’t overthink it. First was a 15 min screening call over the phone. Then a 45 min zoom call with another individual. Questions related to past experience and how you deal with certain situations.
There were 3 rounds. The first is just an hr screening. You then have to take 2 exams for the second round. After the exams there is one final round. The process was very straightforward.
