Interview process was in two stages. First was an informal meeting to see cultural fit and the second stage was competency based questions alongside a presentation. The interview lasted just over an hour
I applied online. I interviewed at Medtronic (Miami, FL) in July 2022
Interview
I interviewed in South Florida for the open Renal Care sales position in July 2020 and I felt that I brought a very strong interview and I was very knowledgeable on the products and showed a very high level interview. I memorized the product line and spent multiple days preparing and was very knowledgeable on Medtronic and the history has well. The manager moved me forward to the next round to speak to a rep on her team and I had a great conversation with that rep. He told me that he liked me. After that call, I did not hear back from the rep, nor did I get a reply from all the thank you emails that I sent. Ten days later I received a corporate email saying that they have moved forward with other reps. The internal recruiter Jeralyn did not even reply to my email when I reached out asking her if I am still in the process. I am shocked that Medtronic allows their managers to not follow up and thank candidates who show a high level of interest in the job. I cannot believe the recruiter did not even reply to me either after we had a high level interview and she was the one that initially moved me forward in the process to speak with the hiring manager Katie Allen. I think this kind of behavior and lack of communication and response is very rude and inconsiderate. It does not matter if deep down you did not like the person or had no interest in hiring them. If they were prepared and showed that they wanted the job and had consistent follow up then make them feel good and personally reach out by email at the least and thank them for their time and hard work in the interview process. You are a representation to Medtronic who is the #1 leading medical device company in the world. It is a huge let down when we find out that you moved forward with someone else after the hard work we put in for the job and it is wrong to those managers and internal recruiters who do not understand or care about other people's feelings.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Medtronic in May 2021
Interview
HR sent me a message directly on LinkedIn asked whether I am interested in this role. I showed my interests and applied for the role online. Then I had a telephone interview with HR. About one week later, I was informed to prepare a presentation.
