      Customer Service Representative Interview

      12 July 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mercer (London, England) in July 2019

      Interview

I applied on their website directly( I was directed from LinkedIn) and 12 calendar days later I received a call from someone in their recruitment department and had a phone interview. This phone interview came without warning via e-mail. I answered a few questions (apologies as I cannot remember what they were) and the recruiter seemed happy enough with my answers in order to advise that I will be sent a HireVue Interview link. If you do not know what HireVue is, it is a one-way video platform where you record your answers to questions that come up on your screen. You can use a smartphone, laptop, tablet. The three questions I received in the one-way interview were almost or very similar to: a) What would your colleagues say about you? b) Explain how your experience is relevant to this role? c) Describe a difficult situation with a customer and how you resolved it? At the end of the phone interview, I was informed that it would take about 4-5 days to get back to me in regards to the one-way interview. You get two working days to complete the one-way interview and this particular one came with the possibility to re-record your answer one more time, for each question. I submitted the one-way interview in the evening of one day and received an e-mail very early in the next morning saying that the hiring manager has gone forward with another candidate and that is where my application ended. I sent an e-mail kindly asking for feedback, on what I can improve and I have not had a response, almost 17 days later. I do hope my review helps you.

      Application

      Interview

The interview was initially over the phone - a “screening” call which took about 15 minutes and was pretty straightforward questions like previous experience and do you know anyone at the company etc The interview was two weeks later which they confirmed within 3 days of that screening call. The interview lasted an hour and I was asked questions about how I would deal with customer complaints and to give examples of how I have worked well under pressure etc It took 4 weeks to hear back by which time I had found another job.
