I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Mumbai)
Interview
2 telephonic discussions - fully scenario based in Core Java. Full 1 hour each.
Then was called for a F2F discussion in their Mumbai, Malad office from Pune. 4 technical discussions followed on the same day, which were all white board scenario based questions. By this time the day was almost over, I was asked by the HR though to skip my train as there would be an HR round and a Managerial round. I had no option but to let go my train booking. The HR round was more on the figures to be discussed. The HR was pretty fine with my number citations. She insisted on what she can do to make me stop looking for further opportunities elsewhere. I was pretty happy as this point. This was when the Managerial round happened. The Manager took a full technical round. He then asked me about the numbers I had quoted before the HR, which I told him. Without pausing for a second, he stated - "It's not possible". I was then told to wait in the lobby and then the HR called me stating that I had made it, and that I could leave for the day. I was back home and the next day the HR called again saying that even though I had made it, there would be two fitment rounds which would be just for the sake of formality and that I should have no doubts in my mind. Two weeks after the fitment rounds began. I was asked to attend them on weekdays post 9pm something. After the two rounds, there was total pause from the HR. All my calls to her number went unanswered. I had to call my consultancy through which this process was happening.
The consultancy took two days to revert that my resume did not meet their criteria. After almost 9 technical discussions and the HR citing that she can do to make me look elsewhere this was the thing that didn't go down very well with me. They even did not reimburse my travel from Pune to Mumbai saying that they consider both the cities same.
By God, I have never seen such a confused organization and I can just take pity on the employees working there.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Budapest)
Interview
I completed the interview process for a Senior Java Developer role at Morgan Stanley Budapest, which culminated in an offer for the Vice President – Technology position.
- 1st Round – Technical Screening (30 minutes)
The first session was a fast-paced technical interview focusing on core Java and Spring Framework concepts. It was a rapid Q&A-style session that assessed foundational and advanced knowledge in key areas.
- 2nd Round – Coding & Design Interview (1.5 hours)
This session involved a hands-on coding and design task. I was asked to:
Design and implement a relatively simple application
Adapt the design as requirements were progressively refined
Implement unit tests to validate the solution
During the session, the interviewers also asked various Java-related questions tied to the implementation.
- 3rd Round – Team Fit Interview
- 4th Round – Final Interview & Offer
In the final session, I received a formal offer for the Vice President – Technology role.
Everyone was very nice and professional.
I applied online. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley in Aug 2024

HR called and scheduled interview . It went well though interviewer seemed little confused and did not know how to frame questions properly . Also she asked few timid questions and got offended on clarification . Still managed to answer each and every question .
Now its been more than 2 weeks still no feedback from hr inspite of following up several times .
