I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Feb 2010
Interview
The HR from the company called to set up an interview. Since this was more of a support role, I wasn't particularly interested, nevertheless, I thought I would give it a shot. I had a phone interview were the interviewer questioned me on my projects, research etc. He then quizzed me on both Linux and Networks.
Linux:-
questions about the booting process
file systems ext2,3
semaphores

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Budapest)
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter for a specific role and had a positive initial HR interview where we aligned on all expectations. However, the subsequent hiring manager interview was highly unprofessional. The manager showed up very late to the meeting without any prior notice or apology. Furthermore, she described a completely different position than the one I applied for, and instead of taking ownership of the internal misalignment, she openly blamed the recruiter and my CV for the mix-up. Recognizing the lack of professionalism and the disorganized internal communication, I politely asked to wrap up the call early.
