Lengthy process- about 1.5 months HR Phone Screening Manager Phone Screening Senior Manager Phone Screening Director Phone Screening In-Person Interview Went through 5 rounds for an entry-level position. I could tell by the managers choice of words during the in-person interview & body language that they he already made up his mind about 5 minutes into it. Nail on the coffin was when I was told that I am competing with an internal candidate. So immediately I thought this is all an HR technicality where they have to interview external candidates. During the in-person interview, I unexpectedly walked into a SQL Test. Which is fine but would’ve been nice to be informed that I may be tested. I did well on it. Be prepared for a lot of role playing questions! Ultimately , I received an email a few hours later stating that they dedicated on another candidate (As I expected). Definitely and interesting experience, never been through 5 rounds, especially for a consulting role. Felt like all the management staff really liked me & would’ve loved to add me to their team but remember, they already made up their minds before I even walked into the interview. Give external candidates a chance !
