I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Nielsen (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
They have a backwards way of interviewing candidates. I first got an interview with the hiring manager that went well. Then a couple of weeks later a consultant recruiter reached out via email to ask for my salary expectations. She had no phone number in her signature block and just an email. I emailed her back saying that I prefer to discuss salary once I have a better understanding of the position and expectations of the role. No response. She called me a few days later and left a voicemail. I had a busy few days at my current job so I didn’t return her call until two days later but left a voicemail with my contact information. No call back. Still no email back. Then, one month later, I get an email from her saying that they are moving on with other candidates that are the “right match”. How could they even know whether I was the right match or not if she never even talked to me?
She is just another example of garbage recruiters who reflect poorly on companies. Recruitment has to be the easiest job in the world and all you need to do is communicate and yet this one can’t even manage to return a call or email.
Nielsen take note, maybe invest in internal recruiters instead of outsourcing recruitment to a third party who is terrible at communication and can’t deliver.

Other Project Manager interview reviews for Nielsen
The process started with an initial HR discussion, followed by a hiring manager discussion round and then a technical round. After that, there was a round with the Engineering Leader, and the final stage was another hiring manager round, which included a live test exercise.
The recruiter set up the interview with the hiring manager. Had a great conversation with her and then had a second interview with the head of the team. Spoke with the recruiter and the role had a lot of applicants with similar experience and timelines and was not selected

Question 1
Experience in Stakeholder Management internationally
A very comprehensive and detailed interview process. Friendly environment that doesn’t make interview feel like an interrogation. Company deals with big data and hence having some data based knowledge will be helpful
