Question 1
Describe a time you had to work with a difficult individual.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Occidental Petroleum (Houston, TX) in May 2022
Interview
Started off well. HR called and set the interview up. Flew to Houston. The folks who were supposed to interview me were in a "big meeting" so I was sent downstairs to the food court. I was told to hang out down there for a hour then come back up. I did that and about 30 minutes after checking in for the second time they showed up. A group of 5-6 people. They asked personal & technical questions. Interview questions were not too bad, until they told me contradicting stuff that the HR rep told me. They also told me they have interviewed over 100 candidates for this postion. I instantly thought this place is a joke if they can't decide on one between 100. Wasted my time and theirs. HR told me they would pay for all my expenses getting to and from the interview. I submitted all my receipts and 45 days later still have no check in the mail. I've reached out to HR and accounting and can not get a hold of any of them!! I'm beyond pissed and now it seems as I will not get reimbursed. Place is an absolute joke. They walked in trying to be big dogs in the interview after I've built up and sold 5+ companies in my career and yet here they are as little cube mice. Good luck if you pick this place.
