I applied online. I interviewed at PetDesk (West Hollywood, CA)
Interview
I had a phone screen with a recruiter from this company, and it was possibly the coldest phone screen I've ever had. The person only asked me questions about my most recent position, where I was for only a year, and nothing about my position before that where I was for nearly a decade and where the vast majority of my relevant experience for the current position comes from.
They also seemed wholly uninterested in getting know me at all beyond the questions about my one former position. Most phone screens like this are a back & forth conversation where you can let your personality and passion shine through. This one was cold and robotic. They did not schedule me for an interview with a hiring manager during the call, which I knew wasn't a great sign. Told me they'd get back to me by the end of the week. I sent a follow up email thanking them for their time and expressing that I believed I was a great fit for the role and why. They ghosted me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me about time management - this seemed to be very important, which to me can be a sign of a company that way overloads their employees.
They follow The Who method and ask similar questions around success and failures for different core competencies. They really dig into metrics and want to know the business impact of any success or failure.
