I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Proceed Finance (Lincoln, NE) in July 2024
Interview
1 hour phone screening which consisted of a chat around technologies and apps I was familiar with and preferred using. After was an in person Q&A panel style interview with the VP, Director, and HR manager. Following the panel interview was a written test (no computer or devices) which consisted of 4-5 beginner level SQL problems asking for common joins, a question to draw out front end wire frames, and a final question asking what you like about development.

Question 1
You were given 3 tables (common students/classes scenario) and were asked to provide results based on those tables. Answers were all basic common join statements. Nothing crazy.

Interview
I went through the interview process. First the screening call, then a half hour interview with the department manager, then an in person interview with the whole team. When I met with the whole team everyone was being so vague about actual projects that I couldn't even get a sense of what they needed accomplished.
I have followed up twice. To both of the HR directors emails and was ghosted.
I took off work, found a babysitter, and was not at least sent an email saying I didn't get the role.
Total waste of everyone's time. You can't get time back.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Proceed Finance
Interview
Initial phone screening went great and despite the role being 100% remote I was asked to make an onsite visit for the next interview. The in-person interview started off positive, meeting with some new faces and then they blindsided me with a 4 page paper "technical quiz" asking me to write out SQL queries and methods with a pencil from memory. Overall experience was very poor. Seems like a company with "old" ways that is struggling to understand how to adapt and hire people without starting off by insulting them. I was told multiple times that they don't trust candidates and I can only assume that feeling also extends to their employees.
