Protocol interview questions

Took me through a 2 stage interview process- both of which were on Teams for some reason, only to never get back to me. I can somewhat understand when recruiters contact me for a role they want to potentially put me forward for, then decide never to contact me again due to realising after our conversation that I wasn't a right fit for the role. But in this instance, the recruiter contacted me, was happy to put me forward, got me an interview & they were happy with me so I got another interview. Why then did I receive NO feedback whatsoever? I understand I never got the job but you can't tell me why? After 2 interviews??

They approached me via LinkedIn and asked me to go and meet in Nottingham, so I took a day off work and paid for a train to do so. The 2nd interview was with a director and the MD a few days later who said they would come back to me at the end of the week. I never heard back from them despite contacting them directly for some feedback. Not even a thank you for meeting with us.
