I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PwC in Apr 2012
Interview
Did an initial screening with a HR rep, then 2 weeks later I did a phone interview with a director from New York. Was very friendly asked what area I was interested in, basic fit behavioral questions. I was then put in contact with a HR representative through email.
I was notified a month after the first phone interview via email for a second phone interview with a manager for the local office where I wanted to work. More specific questions concerning my experience and knowledge of conducting projects for the specific area in PwC (Advisory in my case).
I was in contact with the same HR rep 2 - 3 weeks after the second phone interview about final round interviews in NY. The date was changed about 3 different times with in a week. Often I had to email the HR person concerning updates.
Flew to NY the night before, interviewed the next day. Was brought into the wrong waiting area in the building. Called the person who was suppose to meet me, he informed me that was for Assurance. Was brought to the first interview 15 min late.
Did 3 interviews (45 min each), manager, director and partner. Remember everyone's name of the entire process, make sure to get business cards. Ask questions!!! They want curious intelligent people. I was asked questions about a different advisory area I wasn't applying for. Despite 6 years of government experience, I was told other candidates had more directly related business experience. I was also advised to do a internship, though they only offer internships during the summer to college students.
General behavioral questions with some technical questions related to cases. Not too challenging and fairly intuitive if you’re comfortable with cases. Interview process was easy and straight-forward. Recruiters and interviewers were easy to work with.
