I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Relias (Cary, NC) in Aug 2016
Interview
I had an overall positive interview experience. Scheduling was easy and accommodating, and communication times were reasonable. I was moving to NC and remote for some of the process but that didn't introduce any problems. In-person interviews did a good job of assessing my technical ability and how my personality and communication style would gel with the team.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I indicated on my resume that I had some Linux experience. I was asked to name ten Linux commands. This wasn't relevant to the position I was applying for, so this question was just to make sure I wasn't lying.
Interviewed by a team of managers and engineers. Round robin questioning on technical and work history. Technical was routine and relatively easy. Work history was also pretty easy - have you used agile methodology, what tools have you used, etc.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relias (Cary, NC) in Feb 2019
Interview
Applied for a test engineer in January. Received a call from HR in February saying that the position that I had applied to was filled, but there was another open position.
The first was a timed assessment. Then, I had to retake the same assessment with the HR was watching me on FaceTime (felt this was the dumbest thing I had ever done).
The next week was a telephonic interview. Questions were mostly technical - SQL queries and Selenium basics.
Had a F2F scheduled for the following week. Three rounds of interview, each lasting 45 minutes. Completely behavioral except for two technical questions - SQL Inner join and Selenium xpath, selectors.
None of the people interviewing me knew why I was there. They had a restructure of the QA team on Wednesday and here I was on the following Tuesday with no vacant position. Seems my interview was emailed before Wednesday and that's why was there in the first-place.
Had to follow up with the HR and she said they were not considering me. Reasons - They felt I wasn't interested in Relias, the position nor the teams. Found this answer to be ridiculous. Thanked her for the feedback and moved on with my job search.
