The interview process moved quickly. Within being informed of CV acceptance a 1st round screening call had been set-up, and upon passing through this (2 days after being informed I was invited to partake) - within an hour - the take home task was in my inbox.
The difficultly on the take home task is that it requires coding - beyond what I would determine someone in a CFO role would be required to do. Understanding the logic of code and the outcome of what the analysis was on - completely would understand - but after spending five days (three of which were learning how to do basic coding) the rejection email simply stated that while they appreciated the time I took to complete, the presentation did not include all the key points they were looking for and therefore they would not be moving forward. What key points then is difficult to know - was it insufficient coding, was it missing a point or more from the data analysis? Overall, other jobs (Solicitor for example) in the reviews noted they were also expected to complete the take home task - I have to wonder what it would say about your actual ability to function in the role successfully.
