I was first acquainted with thus company by applying for a temporary position. When i got to the interview for the temp position I applied for i was told it was already filled (why would they have me come in then?) however on the spot i was told about a permanent position within their staffing office.
I really needed a job so i told her i would be interested in pursuing that opportunity. I was brought back two more times, one of which was an actual job shadow, where i sat with one of the employees and watched her basically do her job. It was very strange because after about an hour i could tell they wanted me to leave but i wasn't sure what to do, being that i had never been in that situation before and i didn't want to be rude or unprofessional.
She finally walked me to the door and told me she would be checking my references, background etc.....
Even though the experience was weird i thought i had made an overall good impression and the chances of getting the job were good. I'm about 90% sure my references were never checked b/c they would have told me they recieved a call from Robert Half.
Yes, it is hard to know I was turned down for a job. But this is what really gets me frustrated: I was NEVER called or notified either way. They are a STAFFING COMPANY for god's sake! I am very unimpressed by the lack of professionalism on their part. My time should matter too, and i wasn't even thanked for that. I would not even waste my time with this company. It seems like all they do is post jobs to get information, then they are conveniently "filled" when you get to the interview. Don't waste your time.
