I applied online and attached a resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation. After doing the application, I took an assessment and was told that if I'm what they're looking for, I'll be contacted. Two days later I received a call asking to come in the next day at 1:00pm for an Interview. I arrived a few minutes early, dressed nicely, and brought a copy of my resume, cover letter, and letter of recommendation just in case. I also brought a notebook and pen because I like to look and be prepared to take notes if needed. When I entered the store, I was asked if I needed help so I asked where I would go if I have an interview. It just so happened the lady I was talking to was the manager and she said she'd take care of me in just a moment. She was very nice, funny, and helped me feel at ease. She took me in the back room and asked me simple questions like why I want to work at Ross, where I see myself in 5 years, if I work well under pressure. This was my first job interview ever, so I was a bit nervous and had to apologize for freezing a few times and saying uhm a lot but she just laughed it off and made me feel comfortable. She was very understanding. After the questions she explained the different jobs available, with the pros and cons according to what schedule I need to fit the needs of my childcare schedule for my daughter. She let me choose what job would fit me best and then offered me the position on the spot! My background check cleared and I finished my new hire paperwork yesterday. I start orientation on the 31st as an official Ross Stores Employee. I was so nervous, especially because I was sick with laryngitis so my voice was horrible, but she was very understanding. I had a nice experience.
