I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Ross Stores (Frisco, TX) in June 2013
Interview
I applied online from a flyer I saw, and got called in for an interview a couple of days later. I came in the next day and met with one of the managers for the interview. She told me about what I could expect to be doing if I got the job, mainly just organizational stuff and occasionally working the cash register. Then she asked me about five questions:
-How my previous work relates to this job
-Why I wanted to work there
-A time where I had to deal with an angry customer
-A time where I was very busy and how I dealt with it
-Who the most hard working person I knew was
The interview process at Ross Dress for Less consisted of meeting with a store manager to discuss my customer service experience, cash handling skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. I was asked situational questions about handling customers, teamwork, and resolving problems. The process was straightforward and focused on my availability, work ethic, and ability to support store operations
Fast and easy! They mainly asked about my previous work experiences and my availability. They also asked what great customer service is like to you and why I would be a good fit to the company.
I was interviewed over the phone and than asked to come in person. So I could meet the team and talk to them. It wasn't too hard but it was kind of a waste as I didn't get a call back.
