I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at SWIFT (Kuala Lumpur) in June 2017
Interview
First stage was a written test followed by an interview with HR. It was a good and friendly interview. I was informed that I will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager next and I informed them that I need at least a week's notice so that I could apply leave and attend the interview.
I received an invitation for the interview with the Hiring Manager, but just a few days before the date. Luckily for me I managed to apply for leave and attend. It was a great interview experience with the Hiring Manager and 2 other Senior Test Engineers.
Next was the technical interview with the Technical Leads through a video conference. A good experience as well, although I couldn't answer some of the questions well like Unix commands and scripting as I don't have strong knowledge on them.
A few weeks later, their HR called and informed that they would like to proceed to hire me, but since the top QA person (the Hiring Manager's boss) was in KL, he would like to have a chat with me before confirming the offer, and I had to come on that day itself. Again, last minute scheduling.
Now this was the bad experience. He asked me questions as if I'm coming as a Developer and I got the vibe that this person just doesn't want to hire me. Turns out I was right.
A few weeks later, I got a call from their HR to inform that they have decided to hire another candidate but asked whether I would be interested to try for the same position in another team. I was ok with that since she assured that the expectations and responsibilities are the same.
Accepted the interview invitation but saw in the email that this Hiring Manager wants someone technically stronger compared to the other Hiring Manager's expectations. So I asked for the requirements, but until the morning of the interview day, no replies. Wouldn't want to waste my time again so I replied telling that I won't be coming for an interview where I have no idea on the requirements and expectations.
