      Interview

      The initial interview was a short “life story” informal chat that lasted about a half an hour. The primary purpose is just for them to get to know you as a person and your previous experience. The interviewer was lovely, but I’m not sure she read my CV or application. Maybe that’s just their process. The next stage was the technical interview. First part was handling 2 separate chats at the same time in a certain time frame, this is just to see how well you do under pressure. This was definitely the toughest part. The second half was a phone call role play scenario, which wasn’t so bad. All of the information to the sample questions they asked for the technical interview was online and not too difficult to find. Unfortunately I wasn’t offered a position, but the interview process was very smooth and they were great at communicating with me about my progress quickly enough.

      Hey, thanks for posting about your experience! The Life Story session is all about getting to know you as a person - we want to know what you're passionate about! Some recruiters or interviewers prefer to go into an interview without any preconceived notions or biases about the candidate to make sure the candidate is given the best chance at processing through the stages. So it's very possible that the interviewer wouldn't have seen you're CV before the interview! We find this makes sure the interview is unbiased, fair and focussed more on you as a person rather than solely discussing your technical qualifications. The Technical Interview is where we can delve into how you would handle our merchants were you to accept the position offered! The interview itself is designed to test you, so it can be difficult at times for sure. The important thing is to keep calm and use the resources available; even if you don't fully get the answer we're looking for, we definitely take your thought process into account! I'm sorry to hear there was no offer this time around. We do encourage all candidates to wait about 6 months and then reapply again if they are still interested. This will give you time to assess if the role is still a good fit for you. I do hope you'll apply again when the time is right, I'm sure you'd be great in this role. Thank you again for sharing your experience!

      Typically 3 rounds. They do a good job of getting to know you and who you are. Then there's a gauntlet where they put you on the spot in some customer scenarios to figure out how you operate.

      Interview

      The process was straight forward, I filled out the form on the Shopify website from which it took about 2 days to hear back with an invite to a lifestyle interview. There it was just about getting to know me and how I got on the road that has led me to apply for this position. After that I was invited to a technical interview which consisted of 2 chats and a Email. Overall I highly recommend creating a test store before the technical interview as it helped out a lot in preparation. The whole process took about a month
