I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify in Oct 2023
Interview
The interview process was very organized and the recruiter was quick to respond. I had FIVE interviews, however, was sent a rejection email after the final. The reason was something they could’ve determined at the resume level or after interview one. Getting a rejection email after taking the time to prep for and execute 5 interviews with all positive feedback was quite frustrating. Please be more considerate of peoples time.

Question 1
What is your superpower?
Why do you want to work at Shopify?
I had an interview with an internal recruiter. It became clear during the interview that they had not reviewed my CV and didn't believe I was qualified for the position.
4 rounds of interviews with various business stakeholders. Hiring manager, peer, sales manager, recruiter.
Interviews were conversational and relaxed. No feedback was given when asked post interview process. It wasn’t very clear what the job involved as the job description was very vague.

Question 1
Tell me about an executive marketing program you have owned and managed.
Interview process took 4 months and I got ghosted after my final round interview with no final "yes or no", which is shockingly incompetent for such a large company. Shopify sounded like they had a great culture, but it was frustrating and irritating to be strung along for 4 months with no final answer or consideration for the candidate. Shopify's culture is not reflected in their interviewing process and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Interviews were tough, with interviews that started with hiring manager, many director levels, followed by VP level. There was at least 1 month in between each stage with 2+ months between last 2 stages.
There is something to be said about Shopify's influx of applicants and the fact that they can behave in their manner and get away with it. However, just because you can doesn't mean you should. Leading with empathy, especially given this current job market, is something that is sorely lacking here.
