I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Slack in Jan 2019
Interview
Phone Interview with person who was previously in the position. we spoke for approximately 20 minutes after which she said the next process would be to speak to the manager
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Slack (San Francisco, CA) in July 2019
Interview
After submitting my application online, a recruiter reached out to me via email to set up a 30 minute conversation.
During the interview the recruiter was not engaged and told me as much, she asked some leading questions which showed how little preparation she had put into our call. I get we all have our off days, but in recruiting candidate engagement should be key.
Unfortunately, this has been one of the worst recruiting experiences I've had. I did not feel respected or like the company values candidate experience and thus I was glad when I didn't move forward in the interview process.
