      Global Brand Producer Interview

      4 Mar 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Slack in Feb 2020

      Interview

Astonished at what a poor experience Slack's recruiting was! I was contacted by a recruiter from Slack for a first step phone interview. They asked me to select some times over the next week that I am available using their online calendar. So I did that promptly within a few hours of receiving the email, and then let them know I had done so and look forward to connecting. Great. 7 days go by with absolutely no response or contact. What the hell! I sent a follow-up email since I hadn’t heard back. Still got no response. Finally, a different recruiter contacted me and set a time to do the phone interview. I'm not dying to leave my current position, but ok I let it slide. The interview went well, very basic questions, although I could tell she was not very familiar with the position. She said she'd follow up with me within a few days about some questions she couldn't answer and things she needed to confirm. I think I was way overqualified for the position. And that's fine. However I never received any kind of follow-up after the pathetic phone screening (it's been almost 2 weeks now). At least get back to me and say they've decided to not consider me, etc. But I feel like I got ghosted on twice now. I dodged a bullet honestly, because there's no way I would want to join a company that actually ghosts on candidates like it's some kind of dating app. Very unprofessional, and shows what a disorganized place it probably is. Maybe it got on the best places to work list because no one has to actually do any work and can get away with this amateur behavior? Hard pass. Also the salary was very subpar for SF Bay Area and the future of Slack is questionable. They have one product that does one thing, with larger competitors on their heels.
