I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slack (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
Four to five rounds inclusive of a recruiter screening, a hiring manager screening, a detailed resume overview, and presentation round with a success story and slack launch recommendation case. etc. etc. etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral focused with asks about how your former managers would have given you praise or feedback.
The process is similar to what others have described:
- recruiting screen
- hm screen / full CV review
- presentation
Ultimately, I did not get the job but enjoyed the process. Everyone I spoke to was really intelligent, and the company and culture seem wonderful. The only down side was it was really hard to get on the hiring manager’s calendar.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Slack
Interview
I applied online and it was about 2-3 weeks before I heard back from anyone. There was a phone screen that followed quickly, then about another 2 weeks until a manager phone screen. This was followed by an in-person interview with the manager and director. This interview was a review of my previous experience and roles starting with the roles I had in college. After that was a presentation that I was prepped for by the recruiter. Following the presentation, I was asked for references and then presented with an offer.

Question 1
What would your prior managers (in every single role on your resume) say about you?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slack (New York, NY)
Interview
Recruiter interview then manager interview. Manager told me ill hear back early next week, over a week went by and after several follow up from me, they told me not interested after I followed up. No feedback no nothing, and not sure they would have even told me if I didn't keep following up
