I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at State Farm (Vancouver, WA) in July 2014
Interview
The interview process wasn't too grueling or long. The agent asked some basic interview questions mixed with "chit chat" to get a feel for my personality to make sure I would mesh with the office. Then there was a skills/personality test.

I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm (Dagsboro, DE) in Feb 2026
Interview
Owner was highly knowledgeable and thoughtful. Explained everything clearly and reviewed everything thoroughly on the job description. Base salary and bonus/commission was the only questionable issue. Expect a phone call in one week with offer.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2026
Interview
Alison Fourtner agency. Interview consisted of owner's husband describing job duties and asking if that sounded acceptable. He asked a few questions and did not probe further when I basically did not answer them. ("Why do you want to work in insurance?" "[.....] to get into insurance.")
First, I had a phone screening, where I was told a scheduler would reach out to schedule an in-person meeting for the following week. The scheduler never reached out, so I followed up with my point of contact and had an in-person interview the following week.
