Interview
The interview process at State Farm was structured and professional. It began with an initial application submission through their online portal, followed by a pre-employment assessment on HireVue. The assessment included both technical and behavioral questions. After passing the assessment, I was scheduled for a video interview with a panel of interviewers. The interview focused on my past experiences, technical skills, and how I could contribute to the team. There were 2 code explanation questions. Overall, it was an engaging and thorough process.

Question 1
HireVue:
Background and Qualifications: The first question focused on providing a brief overview of my background and explaining why I am qualified for the software engineering position, specifically in deploying multi-tier architectures on AWS.
Coding Experience: I was asked to describe my coding experience with Python, Node, Java, Go, and other core languages within the AWS cloud.
DevOps and CI/CD Tools: The interview included a discussion about my experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
Infrastructure as Code: I shared my experience with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code languages, detailing how I've used them in previous projects.
Live Coding: You have a string which contains a number represented as English text. Your task is to translate these numbers into their integer representation.
I was asked to explain my solution during the recorded interview.
Additional Skills: The final question asked me to highlight any additional information or skills related to the role that I hadn't previously mentioned.
Panel Interview:
Questions are heavily around resume and technical experience.
There are two programming questions to test my understanding of Terraform and AWS Lambda Function.
Hire Vue video Interview, but they get back to you pretty quickly. They are trying to get through a lot of applicants and it is obvious in their hiring process.
Interview included a virtual interview where you're asked to record video answers. This is followed by a coding challenge. Finally, there was a live video call interview with team members.

Question 1
What was the most challenging task you faced, how did you overcome it, and what did you learn?
It consisted of three rounds: screening coding, self-recording interviews, and panel interviews. Panel interview was very technical, and questions were closely related to the job responsibilities. The difficulty for coding assessment wasn't as bad but definitely need to know the basics.
