I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State Street in May 2014
Interview
I applied and got a phone call the same week where I was asked about my motivation for applying and then got offered an in person interview the next week.
The Interview began with a written accounting quiz that covered very basic financial accounting questions (I recommend bringing a calculator as they do not provide one). I was interviewed by two managers, both seemed dull and uninterested in their job and asked very basic fit questions. They ask about your accounting knowledge but most of the job is very automated so it requires an understanding of the steps in the process more so than an actual knowledge. They look for motivated employees who are a good fit with the team and eager to learn + stay with the company (high turnover is an issue).
Got offered the job a week later and regretfully took it.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at State Street (Montreal, QC) in Mar 2018

Usually two managers will ask you about your educational and professional experience and ask the general interview questions such as how would you handle working in a team with someone who does not pull their weight. There are also situational questions to determine how you would deal with certain types of workers.
