Difficult interview
Application
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sun Life in Oct 2022
Interview
I had a 30 minute interview with an HR representative followed by a one hour interview with two of the group managers. I then had to do a third interview that was 2 hours long, the first half being a case study followed by some more questioning with the director and two more group managers. Everyone was extremely easy to talk to, I was pretty rusty doing interviews and most likely shot myself in the foot a few times. I hope to apply again if another posting becomes available!

Question 1
"What if"... questions?
How will I deal with objections costumers
The initial call with HR started the whole process in a negative way. She was 10 minutes late to the call, and from the start I could tell she did not want to be there. The questions were standard and I was not given an approximate amount of time to answer them. I was cut off frequently. At the end of the call I was asked what my salary expectations were, when I informed her, she immediately asked if it was negotiable and responded "within reason".
I was not expecting to get an interview for the job, however I did get one. It was a 2 hour panel interview with managers who asked many questions for the first hour, then the second hour was a series of "what if" scenarios where I needed to explain in detail how I would resolve them, it was very awkward, the managers also seemed uninterested and I could tell they were speaking with each other (frequent awkward pauses, smirks at each other.) about 1.5 hours into the interview they asked me about my salary expectations, they eventually told me that the starting salary would be about 20,000$ below what I had communicated in the initial call (my number was based on my experience and what their competitors are offering).
All in all, not a very positive experience, it felt like it was going to be a waste of time and in the end it was.
