I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Hartford (South Windsor, CT) in Aug 2017
Interview
I applied online and took a call center training course for the pre-assessment. I was offered a phone interview the next day. During the phone interview, I was asked multiple questions about my background in customer service and sales. They had the wrong resume on file (from a past application to their company) and claimed they did not have my most recent resume, which I provided at the beginning of the application.
After the interview concluded, the HR consultant (who was doing the interviewing and hiring process) explained to me why I answered each question wrong and what I could have done better in the future. I was then offered a "speed dating" type of interview in person anyway, but declined after having such a poor interview experience. I felt as if the consultant was more interested in shorter, machine-like, robotic responses than explaining my actual YEARS of experience and what I could have brought to the table. I was then told I should "stick to writing" because I had a multitude of writing internships on my resume. Very unprofessional. Overall, a very disappointing interview experience. Would never have expected to be treated so horribly by a professional corporate company.

The interview went well with the hiring manager. She was very professional and great to talk to. The interview consisted of lots of situational questions and behavioral questions. Make sure to be ready to give great answers.

I applied online. I interviewed at The Hartford (Brea, CA) in June 2025
Interview
After quite a few days after applying online I spoke with a Recruiter. Then about a week later I interviewed through video with 2 managers. Went fairly well. I then got a phone call quite a few weeks later from the recruiter that they hired someone else. This whole process took about a month. Luckily I gave up on them quickly. I’m not interested in working in a bureaucracy. They weren’t worth the commute either. I think they wanted someone with little experience and who would work cheap for them. Good luck training that person.
