      Auto Claims Adjuster Interview

      3 Nov 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers in Sept 2016

      Interview

I sent applied in late August for a position in another state. I received an email from a recruiter in early September and completed a phone interview. The interview lasted about 45 mins, we went over my resume and experience. The recruiter explained the position, salary range, benefits, and asked for some insurance/claims definitions to test my knowledge. She told me I was cleared for the next step, I went to the office a week later for the tests. There are eight parts--writing a denial letter, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, typing test, math, liability scenarios, grammar. If you know claims you will do fine but it is a 4-5 hour process. Once you pass each part, you are cleared to go to the next step. I got a call to set up a video interview for a week later, this is an interview with 2 supervisors, then interview with 2 managers. They ask about 10-12 behavioral questions, so study the STAR method and have examples. The 2 managers asl questions to gauge your you personality and how you interact with others. You also get to meet with a current employee and ask questions and they tell you about a typical day. After that they compile all your data and review with HR. The recruiter will call you with an offer contingent upon background check and drug test.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you handle monotonous tasks, how do you handle a rude or combative customer or attorney. Describe a time where you had to prioritize your day because you had multiple tasks to do.
