      I interviewed at Travelers

      Interview

On campus interview followed by 4-Interview Super day at company headquarters in Connecticut. Mix of behavioral and technical questions. Free lunch and transportation expenses. The company building is a little hard to find. Interviewers were just okay.

      Question 1

What are your 3 greatest weaknesses?
      Answer question
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Travelers (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2023

      Interview

Two stage interviews. First stage is an hr long and the second one is two hrs case study. The first stage is your typical interview. The second stage, all of sudden you'll have more interviewers asking the same questions they asked in the first stage. Then about an hr or so left you'll do a case study where you have to read a scenario with financial statements and you'll need to recommend the company or not.

      Financial Analyst Interview

      8 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hartford, CT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers (Hartford, CT) in Sept 2022

      Interview

Tedious application: 30 Minute HR phone call: A brief exchange with a scheduler: 3 Interviews: 2 weeks: A form letter This was the most bogus, narcissistic organization I ever interviewed for. They make you sink a week of PTO into 3 meaningless interviews that could easily have been condensed into one traditional interview with the Hiring Manager & HR Rep. They force you to schedule during the middle of the day when it is convenient for them, and will get upset if the interviews fall outside of the order they desire. Every question was psychoanalytical/opinion/situation based, many of which where classic “Gotcha” questions designed to trip you up and make it easier to insert bias into the process. Regardless, interview seemed to go well. They indicated they were looking to hire soon (why say this if you are not intending to hire the person?); sent thank you letters, and waited for a response. WEEKS passed before I got a cheaply spliced “Hi (name),” followed by a boilerplate rejection copy. This was especially frustrating considering the VP in the hiring process mentioned they were hiring for two similar positions and I could tell from the pace and schedule slots that they interviewed myself and another person. Ultimately, I was left feeling disrespected, used, and uncared for. As a company you are entitled to pass on a potential hire, but without a human element in your hiring process, you occupy that same gross insurance company trope everyone hates. Also, both my personal contacts at Travelers said to reach out to them and then ghosted me when I actually applied. I don’t know that this can be blamed on the organization, but still…
