      Aerospace Maintenance Apprentice Interview

      14 Mar 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Salisbury, NC
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Air Force (Salisbury, NC)

      Interview

You take the ASVAB, the recruiter tells you which jobs you qualify for (and will steer you towards whichever jobs eh is pressured to fill.) and signs you up. You go to MEPS, do the qualifying physical, and then you take the oath. Go to basic, go to tech school, and get stationed at your first permanent duty station.

      Question 1

Most of the interview questions are very easy, but the most difficult aspects of the interview process is choosing the job you came in for. The recruiter will do whatever he can to make you choose the job that he/she wants you to have, and often those are understaffed and miserable (Security Forces for example).

You go to a recruiter, they make sure your ASVAB test is current, then show you a list of available jobs within your test range. Once you select a job, you get a ship date for basic training. After basic, you go to Technical School to learn your selected job. From there you go to your first duty station and begin performing your job.
