While serving in the Air Force, you have chances to apply for special duties for out of the ordinary type jobs. Do to this you would have to apply for the special duty via a military secure computer and compete for the open position. Based on the overall review of the persons qualifications, if you matched the requirement as the top candidate, you would them be selected for the job. Some of the jobs just require the application online, but other will require more information such as medical reviews, commander recommendations, security background checks.
