I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Army (Anchorage, AK) in Mar 2012
Interview
Used emails to send my past job ratings and career synopsis to human resource officers in units I was interested in. I spoke with the executive officers of a number of units. Ultimately, I chose the unit that also chose me.

I did not have to interview for this job. I just had the opportunity to talk with my current boss at a meeting. My boss liked my attitude and I moved jobs a few weeks later.
None, initial counseling, sit down with the battalion commander, looks over officer record brief, asks questions over past and intent on the future, provides guidance of the future of the job and the future of the organization
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Army (Fort Campbell, KY) in Dec 2013
Interview
Was not much, mostly if you can do work and figure things out on your own you got the job. Probably will get put into it anyway at some point in carrier anyway. Its a learning process and this is just one of the steps to the good jobs. That said you will have to talk to the commander of your battalion, division , or whatever depending on level your at. Its very informal aside from actually reporting in, but once thats over the commander just wants to hear about you so he can get a read on who you are. He is gauging your work ethic and skills from it all. Very normal in any interview but in this case if you are there you most likely already have the job. Just don't screw it up
