I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Nov 2016
Interview
I met USAA recruiters at my school's career expo and dropped off my resume. Then, I received a call a few weeks later asking if they could interview me over the phone. After the phone interview, I was invited to hq in San Antonio for final rounds. A group of other marketing intern candidates went to dinner with current employees the first night. It was a relaxing environment and we were able to ask employees about their experience at the company. We stayed the night at a hotel on the riverwalk. The 2nd day, we went to hq, had breakfast, I had 1 45-minute interview with an employee in the marketing department, had lunch, then went on a company tour. The building is huge! Overall a good experience.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (New Orleans, LA) in Oct 2016
Interview
The interview was fairly relaxed. My interviewer conducted our session in sort of a conversational format, where her questioned were logical and transitioned smoothly between one another. This helped me significantly as I could answer her questions more honestly and thoroughly. While some of the questions required more time to think an answer through, overall the process was fairly relaxed.
