      Senior Injury Adjuster Interview

      21 Dec 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at USAA (Phoenix, AZ) in Dec 2021

      Interview

It's a straight forward process starting with a quick phone screen followed by a virtual interview via Zoom. The interview begins with the managers asking for your background and how that makes you best suited for the position. Then they follow that up with the typical STAR behavioral question. Then they ask a few technical questions. Their final questions are related to your salary requirements and some final information about when you can expect to hear back from them.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe a time you had to manage the expectations of multiple parties within a claim. Suppose you receive a claim with the named insured in a non-owned vehicle that they were not at fault for. You receive the claim from their attorney. Choose a state and explain what you would do. (it is worth noting they could not specify if the attorney was even presenting a claim or simply reporting a claim and I was expected to fill in the rest of the information and follow it to a conclusion)

      Sr. Injury Adjuster Interview

      8 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chesapeake, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at USAA (Chesapeake, VA) in Jan 2026

      Interview

Position listed with a top salary range of $120K. Advised at initial call position bugeted at $80K ($40K less than posted position). This is the first interview after 11 applications for positions I was well qualified for (and them some). My former Chubb Ins. Supv. Cindy Bruman is good friends with USAA HR VP, Gloria Dicandia. I was told the interview would be 60 minutes however, the interview was 20 minutes and consisted of details of the position and two questions. This interview came about after my reporting to the US Dept of Labor/EEOC, the unusual fact, 10 previous applications were rejected with some positions being reposted immediately after my app. rejection. A former colleague previously spoke to the USAA SIU manager who asked for a copy of my resume and, my application would be secured, once submitted as approximately 48 SIU positions would be posted. No job offer was made for the Sr. Injury Adjuster position. I'm of the opinion, the interview was offered in an effort for USAA to "CYA" due to my reporting the repeated application rejection circumstances. Draw your own conclusions.
