The process was all fine till the final interview with the head of the team. The person seemed to be in a hurry and not in a mood to listen to anything i had to explain or talk about my portfolio.

A phone call with a recruiter to discuss the role and answer some questions, then a video call with the hiring manager, and then a virtual half-day meeting with team members and managers. I also had to do a portfolio review of 1 to 2 projects and a design challenge.

VMware recruiting seemed disorganized. At first they auto-rejected my application, then the recruiter became very persistent that I should schedule an interview. I finally agreed, however they wanted me to skip several steps and go right to a portfolio walkthrough. At this point, I didn't have any idea what the product was or what they even needed from someone in this position. I asked for a meeting with the Design manager and after that I scheduled a walkthrough with two designers on the team. I had the impression that the designers were pressed for time and not very interested. I was informed they only had 45 minutes instead of the hour scheduled which felt rushed without notice.
