I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Verizon in Oct 2012
Interview
Their hiring process is a bit of a dog and pony show, but it makes sense considering the benefits available at hiring. After applying I was promptly invited for a phone interview. This interview was simply verifying the information on my application. Passing that, I was asked to go through another phone interview, this time it was a series of questions concerning my customer service experiences. Passing that, I was scheduled for a one on one interview with the store manager. At the end of the interview, I was told that I was " perfect for the position", but that I was the first interview, and I should expect to hear back within 10 days. I called regularly to check in, and was told that either the hiring manager was not in, or that they were still in the decision process. After 6 weeks, I gave up calling. 11 weeks after my in-store interview, I received an automated form rejection letter informing me that they had identified applicants who better suited the position. I felt that their follow-up was very unprofessional, and would have much preferred the rejection at least come from the manager I interviewed with, having made it to the top of their interviewing ladder, as it were.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Cincinnati, OH) in May 2026
Interview
The interview was conducted virtually. It was for the customer service position. Mostly I was questioned about how I would handle various scenarios, for assisting clients. I was asked some real world examples and asked to handle them.

Question 1
How would you handle an angry or disgruntled customer?
Lengthy and the paperwork is extremely confusing to fill out and submit. Thank you. But other than that really nice people. They hire through a 3rd party called Rose International…. Very helpful people
Unprofessional interview, and unfair. Being bilingual and many years of customer service experience they decided to pass due to many years of experience. The interviewer also looked unorganized and was bias.
